About
WeWontTip is a cultural cleansing and renewal movement, committed to eradicating the world of the filth and slime of Tipping Culture.
Our enemy is Tipping Culture, and the dark figure behind it—the National Restaurant Association (NRA). They are one and the same. When we refer to one, we refer to both.
We are dedicated to destruction of these pillars of exploitation, and will dismantle this structure in the following way:
- Promote widespread civil disobedience in the form of organized and systematic tip refusal to render the current tip-based exploitation model uneconomical and unsustainable.
- Elevate and support Tipfree restaurants, businesses, and initiatives worldwide; and creation of an alternative Tipfree Economic Alliance economic bloc.
- Serve as the voice, heart, and center of the Tipfree movement – a counterweight to entrenched industry power structures.

The Tipfree Pledge

We are building a future of economic fairness, transparency, and honesty – a Tipfreefuture.

We reject tipping culture in all its forms, including any implicit or explicit expectations to tip, and any shapeshifting variations or creeping manifestations it takes on for the purpose of deceiving the world.

We define tipping as any extra payment expected for the purpose of ‘rewarding’ the service provider, that is on top of and in addition to the cost of the service.

We define a 'Tipfree business' as any business that completely rejects this exploitation model – it not only rejects any implicit or explicit expectations to tip, but differentiates itself clearly through clear, prominent, and visible signages or policy within their establishment that explicitly mentions their Tipfree policy.

We absolutely refuse to tip under any circumstances, understanding that doing so amounts to funding, supporting, and perpetuation of a widespread system of exploitation.

We demand to pay fairly, honestly, and with dignity for every transaction, without being guilted, shamed, harassed, and nickeled-and-dimed at every turn.

We reject the lie that outstanding service is conditional or contingent on a tip. We declare that outstanding service is the standard duty of every business to its customer, any business that fails this duty does not deserve our business.

We demand a new Tipfree Economic Alliance (TEA) – a new model of economic honesty where:
- Businesses take full responsibility for the livelihoods and well-being of workers entrusted to their care.
- Workers take pride and dignity in the labor that earns their daily bread.
- Neither party resorts to extortion, blackmailing, or cowardly offloading this responsibility onto customers.
- And both parties explicitly reject tipping culture, including any symbols or practices associated with this parasitic economic model.

We stand behind and proudly pledge our support and allegiance to businesses that commit to this Tipfree model, who are TEA Certified members.

We pledge to take every measure humanly possible to exclusively support TEA certified businesses and establishments.
- We will visit an exploitative business only as last resort, only when no other options are reasonably available – but even then, we absolutely refuse to tip under any circumstances (see #5).
- We pledge to unite under this flag as the representation of the Tipfree movement, and to act as one voice, one mind, one economic unit, because lasting change can only come through unity, determination, and singleness of purpose.
